Sources confirm that Nicole Kidman has filed for divorce from Keith Urban, bringing an end to their marriage of nearly two decades.
The Academy Award-winning actress reportedly filed documents in Tennessee court on Tuesday, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the dissolution.
Kidman and the four-time Grammy Award-winning country music star wed in June 2006. The high-profile couple share two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, and primarily reside in Nashville.
An insider has corroborated the separation, stating that the couple has been living separately since the summer months. Initial reports from TMZ indicate that Kidman was not seeking the split.
The specific reasons leading to the divorce proceedings remain unclear.
Kidman and Urban, both of whom have Australian roots, navigated various challenges and celebrated successes throughout their nearly 20 years together.
Their relationship saw them reach professional pinnacles, with both receiving accolades and nominations in their respective fields. They have consistently supported each other’s careers, frequently appearing together at award ceremonies and film premieres.
