A child was born aboard Uzbekistan Airways flight HY282 from Istanbul to Tashkent on July 19, the airline’s press service reported.
During the flight, one of the passengers went into premature labor. Fortunately, two doctors were on board and, together with the crew, promptly provided all necessary medical assistance.
“The flight attendants acted professionally, harmoniously and clearly, fully justifying their high purpose—to be there and help in any situation. Their confidence, composure and care were the most important factors at this crucial moment,” the statement said.
The crew decided to make an emergency landing in Urgench, where doctors were waiting for the mother and her newborn baby boy. The family was promptly taken to a local clinic.
Uzbekistan Airways congratulated the family on their new addition and expressed gratitude to the crew, flight attendants, and doctors who happened to be on the flight.
