On July 8th, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to a statement released by the President of Uzbekistan’s press service.
The discussion centered on pressing matters concerning the advancement and reinforcement of the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia. Particular emphasis was placed on the tangible implementation of agreements reached at the highest levels, especially in the realm of trade and economics.
Both leaders underscored the significance of sustained, coordinated efforts and practical interagency collaboration to boost trade volumes, promote industrial cooperation projects in key economic sectors, broaden productive engagement at the regional level, and foster robust cultural, humanitarian, and educational exchanges.
In this context, the necessity of meticulous preparation and ensuring the effectiveness of the second meeting of the Uzbekistan-Russia Council of Regions, scheduled for this fall, was highlighted.
The two heads of state also exchanged perspectives on the international agenda and deliberated on the schedule of upcoming events.
