Minnie Hauk entered the Group One Yorkshire Oaks as the strong favourite, priced at 8-15.
Minnie Hauk cemented her reputation by securing a comfortable victory in the Yorkshire Oaks on day two of the prestigious Ebor meeting at York.
The three-year-old filly, expertly guided by jockey Ryan Moore and trained by Aidan O’Brien, outpaced her rivals, finishing three and a half lengths ahead of runner-up Estrange.
This triumph follows her previous successes in the Oaks at Epsom in June and the Irish Oaks at the Curragh in July, completing a remarkable Oaks treble.
Minnie Hauk’s stablemate, Garden of Eden, secured third place, with Qilin Queen finishing fourth.
Estrange, trained by David O’Meara, mounted a late challenge but ultimately couldn’t match the pace and power of the dominant 8-15 favourite, Minnie Hauk.
This victory marks a record-equalling ninth Yorkshire Oaks win for trainer Aidan O’Brien, while jockey Ryan Moore celebrated his fifth win in the prestigious race.
Speaking to ITV Racing, O’Brien commented: “She’s beautiful. She does everything right, she cruises, she’s a lovely mover and obviously the [Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe] and the Breeders’ Cup Turf, all those races are there for her.”
Moore, 41, added: “She is a straightforward filly and her record indicates how classy she is. She does not do a lot when she hits the front, but she does what you ask her to do.”
Queen Camilla assumed the role of patron of York Racecourse in 2024.
O’Brien and Moore were presented with their trophies by Queen Camilla, who also extended her congratulations in the winners’ enclosure.
“We are honoured Her Majesty came over and appeared in the picture,” O’Brien stated.
Earlier on Thursday, Royal Fixation emerged victorious in the Group Two Lowther Stakes, defeating fellow 5-2 joint favourite America Queen.
Trained by Ed Walker and ridden by William Buick, Royal Fixation displayed a strong finish, sprinting clear to win the race for two-year-old fillies by a length.
“She is not very big but has a big heart. I wanted to put it right today as I felt we should have won at Newmarket [she finished second] last time,” said Buick, 37.
