Miley Cyrus has confirmed her engagement to her partner of four years, musician Maxx Morando.
The Grammy Award-winning artist was recently observed wearing a gold and diamond ring on her engagement finger at the premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash in Los Angeles on Monday.
In a Wednesday appearance on Good Morning America, the 33-year-old star revealed that Morando proposed during a recent trip to Asia.
“I am not easy to surprise because I love to control every situation, and I had completely surrendered. I’m telling you, I was so, so, so surprised,” she shared.
Cyrus, known for hits like “Flowers” and “Party in the U.S.A,” was previously married to Australian actor Liam Hemsworth in 2018.
After a decade-long relationship, the couple announced their divorce in 2019.
Speaking with British Vogue in 2023, Cyrus recounted that she and the 27-year-old Morando connected after being “put on a blind date.”
Morando is a drummer for the Los Angeles-based band Liily. The band performed at NBC’s Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party, hosted by Cyrus in 2022, alongside renowned musicians including Cyrus’s godmother Dolly Parton and David Byrne.
Showcasing her ring, Cyrus told Good Morning America that Morando “did good” with his selection.
“Max and I have been together for four years, and it’s very obvious the drastic amount of growth that I’ve had in those four years,” she stated.
“You want to have someone by your side that always tells you you can do it.”
The pop star’s latest song, “Dream as One,” is featured in the most recent Avatar film.
She released her ninth album earlier this year but has expressed “no desire” to tour, citing concerns about maintaining sobriety and mental health while on the road.
There had been calls for Israel’s exclusion over the war in Gaza, as well as unfair voting accusations.
Almost 77,000 people signed a petition calling for the change, but the airport’s CEO has said no.
The new space will include video production, live recording and podcast facilities once refurbished.
