Following a Wednesday incident, red flags were raised, halting the Supersport practice session.
Northern Irish rider Gary McCoy remains in critical care following a crash during Wednesday’s Supersport qualifying session at the North West 200’s opening practice day.
McCoy was taken to the hospital by ambulance, while Englishman Craig Neve was airlifted after their involvement in an incident at Mill Road roundabout, six minutes into the session.
His wife, Leana, confirmed he remains in critical care at Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital, receiving “brilliant care.”
McCoy’s injuries are extensive, including: eleven broken ribs, two pelvic fractures, a punctured lung, a broken collarbone, a fractured right wrist, a broken left thumb, and a minor brain bleed.
Leana stated: “On behalf of Gary and myself, we express deep gratitude for the overwhelming kindness, well wishes, and support received.”
“Recovery will be a long journey, but my husband’s unwavering determination is already evident.”
