Martha Stewart Joins Snoop Dogg and Modric in Swansea City Takeover

Martha Stewart, a prominent figure in the lifestyle industry and the USA’s first self-made female billionaire, has joined Swansea City as a co-owner.

American businesswoman Martha Stewart is the latest high-profile personality to invest in Swansea City, joining as a co-owner.

Stewart follows in the footsteps of rapper Snoop Dogg and Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric, who have also become minority owners of the Welsh football club.

The 84-year-old was present at the Swansea’s recent 2-1 victory over Wrexham, having been invited as a guest of the club.

Stewart made her fortune in the homemaking and lifestyle sector, achieving the distinction of being the first self-made female billionaire in the United States.

Swansea’s ownership group has previously expressed its desire to elevate the club’s profile to generate increased revenue, enabling further investment in the team in compliance with financial sustainability regulations.

In a statement released by the club on behalf of the ownership, it was announced:

“We are pleased to confirm that Martha, an accomplished businesswoman and leading expert in American homemaking and lifestyle, has joined Snoop Dogg and Luka Modric as a minority owner of our football club.”

“We extend a warm welcome to Martha and are confident that her attendance at Friday night’s game has only heightened her enthusiasm and anticipation for her involvement with Swansea City.”

Despite the addition of another investor and minority owner the club said that they would be “likely” to have a quiet January transfer window.

“Given the high turnover of players in our squad over the 2025 summer window, and Vitor’s track record of developing and improving young players, we do not expect the January window to be a particularly busy one for Swansea City.

“We will, of course, always be looking for ways to strengthen the squad and if we believe those opportunities are available and would represent good deals for the club then we will look to capitalise, but given the size of the squad we have already it’s likely January will be relatively quiet,” the statement said.

Stewart’s investment in Swansea follows that of Modric, the former Ballon d’Or recipient, who became an investor and co-owner in April, with Snoop Dogg joining a few months later.
