Matheus Cunha, a 26-year-old Brazilian forward with 13 international caps, is set to join Manchester United.
Manchester United have reached an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers for the transfer of Matheus Cunha.
The transfer fee is reported to be £62.5 million, triggering a release clause in Cunha’s contract. This acquisition marks United’s first signing of the summer transfer window.
Cunha, formerly of Atletico Madrid, will sign a five-year contract with an option for a further year at Old Trafford.
He recently completed a medical in Manchester.
The transfer is contingent upon visa approval and standard registration procedures, with completion expected following Cunha’s international duty with Brazil later this month.
Cunha departed Manchester on Sunday to rejoin the Brazilian national team.
Brazil faces Ecuador in a World Cup qualifier on Thursday (Friday 00:00 BST), marking Carlo Ancelotti’s debut as manager.
Cunha boasts an impressive record of 31 goals in 76 appearances for Wolves since completing a permanent transfer in 2023.
His move to Wolves involved a £35m fee from Atletico Madrid, following a successful loan spell.
