KUWAIT CITY/MANAMA/DOHA/TEHRAN /Trend/ – Kuwaiti and Bahraini authorities have reopened their airspace, which was temporarily closed following an Iranian missile strike on the Al Udeid Air Base in Doha, Qatar. Trend reports.
Earlier, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a statement regarding the attack on the US base in Qatar.
“In response to the overt military aggression of the criminal regime of the United States of America against the peaceful nuclear facilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran and a gross violation of international law, by decision of the Supreme National Security Council and under the leadership of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Command Headquarters, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched a powerful and devastating missile strike on the Al Udeid base in Qatar,” the statement said.
The Qatari Ministry of Defence reported successfully repelling the Iranian missile attack targeting the Al Udeid Air Base.
“With the help of Allah and thanks to the high readiness of our servicemen, the attack was neutralized in a timely manner. There were no casualties or injuries as a result of the incident,” the statement said.
21:55 (GMT+4) Earlier today, Iraq, Kuwait, and Bahrain closed their airspace following the Iranian missile strike on the Al Udeid Air Base. The base, one of the largest US military bases in the Persian Gulf, was targeted in retaliation for US strikes on Iranian nuclear infrastructure.
The IRGC previously issued a statement regarding the attack on the US base in Qatar, echoing the earlier statement regarding the strike’s justification and execution.
The Qatari Ministry of Defence’s statement regarding the successful defense against the missile attack remains unchanged.
