BAKU /Trend/ – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) operation against Iran will continue until the threat posed by Iran’s nuclear program and ballistic missiles is eliminated.
As reported Tuesday by Trend, this was stated by IDF Operations Directorate chief, Major General Oded Basiuk.
According to him, the operation against Iran is at an intermediate stage.
“We continue to strike nuclear targets – acting according to a pre-prepared plan and within the timeframe we deem appropriate to deepen the achieved results. We are striking the terrorist regime, not the people – these people deserve a better future. The threat to us comes from the leadership in Tehran, not the people in the streets of Shiraz,” said O. Basiuk.
It is noted that as a result of Israeli attacks, more than 200 Iranian ballistic missile launch systems were destroyed or rendered unusable.
It should be recalled that Israel launched air strikes on Iran in the early morning of June 13. This resulted in a significant loss of military personnel, including the Chief of General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Mohammad Baqeri; the Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Hossein Salami; two commanders of the Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters, Golam Ali Rashid and Ali Shadmani; the commander of the IRGC Air Force, Amir Ali Hajizadeh; nine nuclear scientists; and other high-ranking officials.
On the same day, Iran retaliated against Israel: more than 150 ballistic missiles and over 100 drones were launched at Tel Aviv and other areas, resulting in civilian casualties and widespread destruction.
