Iran’s Evin Prison Attack: Death Toll Revealed

BAKU /Trend/ – A reported Israeli airstrike on Tehran’s Evin Prison has resulted in 71 fatalities.

According to Trend, this information was disclosed by Iranian judicial official Asghar Jahangir.

Jahangir stated that the deceased include prison staff, military personnel, inmates, inmates’ families, and residents of nearby homes.

The incident occurred on June 23, when a section of Evin Prison in Tehran, primarily an administrative building, was reportedly struck by Israel.

Earlier, on June 13, reports indicated that Israel launched airstrikes on Iran, resulting in numerous military casualties, including Iranian Chief of Staff Mohammad Bagheri, IRGC Commander Hossein Salami, two commanders of the “Khatam al-Anbia” headquarters, Gholamali Rashid and Ali Shadmani, Commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force Amir Ali Hajizadeh, nine nuclear scientists, and other individuals.

In response, Iran reportedly launched over 150 ballistic missiles and over 100 drones at Tel Aviv and other areas in Israel, causing civilian casualties and significant damage.

On June 22, it was reported that the U.S. Air Force conducted strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities. Sources indicate that all three facilities were destroyed.
