Tehran has taken proactive measures to ensure the continuity of its nuclear program, according to Iranian Vice President and Atomic Energy Organization head, Mohammad Eslami.
As reported by Trend on Tuesday, Eslami stated that the damage assessment of Iranian nuclear facilities is underway, with restoration programs already in preparation. He emphasized that Iran’s planning inherently prioritized uninterrupted production and services within the nuclear program.
These statements follow a series of escalating military actions. On June 13th, Israel launched airstrikes on Iran, resulting in significant casualties, including high-ranking military officials. In retaliation, Iran launched over 150 ballistic missiles and 100 drones against Tel Aviv and other Israeli areas, causing civilian casualties and extensive damage.
Subsequently, on June 22nd, the United States Air Force conducted strikes targeting Iranian nuclear facilities, reportedly destroying key sites including Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan. U.S. President Donald Trump publicly confirmed the successful completion of these operations on social media.
In a further escalation, Iran responded with airstrikes against a U.S. military base in Qatar on June 23rd.
