Hardeep Singh Kohli, a Scottish comedian, has appeared in court during a private hearing, facing a rape charge.
The 56-year-old is also accused of an offense under the Domestic Abuse (Scotland) Act.
During the closed hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court, Mr. Kohli did not enter a plea to either charge.
Sheriff Bernard Ablett ordered Mr. Kohli to be committed for further examination and subsequently released him on bail. A date for his next court appearance is yet to be determined.
Mr. Kohli, a resident of Kelvinside in Glasgow, is a former reporter for the BBC’s “The One Show” and a past panelist on Channel 5’s “The Wright Stuff.”
