Gareth Bale: Reshaping Football’s Appeal

An actress starring in the Olivier Award-winning play, Dear England, has revealed that the production profoundly altered her perspective on football.

Making its regional debut at The Lowry theatre in Salford, Dear England chronicles Gareth Southgate’s impactful tenure as England manager, presenting a narrative described by producers as “uplifting, at times heartbreaking, and ultimately inspiring.”

Liz White, portraying sports psychologist Pippa Grange, shared that Southgate’s leadership redefined her view of the national team.

“I diligently followed all the tournaments Gareth managed,” she stated.

“His approach made the team more appealing… his gentlemanly demeanor, eloquent communication, and impeccable style elevated the entire experience.

“The team culture seemed markedly improved under his leadership.”

Dear England runs at The Lowry from May 29th to June 29th.
