Thomas Frank has secured 11 victories in his 28 matches as Tottenham manager.
Thomas Frank has expressed his understanding of, and shared in, the frustrations voiced by Tottenham supporters, after the head coach was met with boos following Thursday’s draw at Brentford.
Spurs fans directed chants of “boring, boring Tottenham” towards the team during the goalless stalemate, which marked Frank’s first return to the Gtech Stadium since his departure in June.
The result positions Spurs in 12th place in the Premier League standings, having achieved only two wins in their last 10 top-flight fixtures.
Addressing the chants, Frank commented: “I will reframe the question by saying that if you achieve success, the Tottenham fans will rally behind you.
“The fans will support us, and while I was booed last night, I am confident that a significant number of fans are behind us.
“I understand the frustration, and I share it as well.”

Spurs held to draw on Frank’s return to Brentford
The reception Frank received from the Tottenham supporters stood in stark contrast to the standing ovation he was given by the Brentford faithful as he entered the pitch before the game.
The Dane, who spent seven years managing the Bees before his move to Spurs, was asked if he was enjoying the new challenge.
“When you have to exert a significant amount of effort and things are not going smoothly, it can be difficult to enjoy,” Frank stated.
“If I am running hard, I don’t necessarily enjoy that moment, but I understand that I need to persevere to improve my fitness, win a race, or whatever the goal may be.
“We are in a situation where we need to work diligently, remain committed, and persevere through it.
“In retrospect, when we reflect on this period or perhaps this initial year, we will recognize it as a valuable learning experience that has prepared us for future challenges.”
Spurs have recorded seven clean sheets in the Premier League under Frank this season, compared to just six in 2024-25 under Ange Postecoglou, indicating clear signs of improvement.
Prior to the Brentford match, they secured a 1-0 victory at Crystal Palace.
Frank acknowledged that there are still areas requiring further improvement but maintained that there are ample reasons to be optimistic.
“It’s not perfect; we aspire to be a free-flowing team,” Frank remarked.
“I would like to emphasize the positives from our last two away performances. The foundation we are building is robust, and we are defensively strong. This is of utmost importance, and we have learned how to effectively counter their transitions.
“We are diligently working on the offensive aspect of our game.
“Football inherently involves mistakes. Losing possession is inevitable, but if we can minimize these errors, it will lead to more attacking opportunities.”
Frank was without several key players on Thursday as he continues to manage a lengthy injury list.
James Maddison, Dominic Solanke, and Dejan Kulusevski are among those sidelined with injuries, while Xavi Simons is serving a suspension.
“Expectations are appropriate, and I believe we are undergoing a period of transition,” Frank stated.
“It’s not that we don’t aspire to perform better, but the club’s situation, the squad, injuries, and other factors all contribute to this transition.”
Tottenham will resume action on Sunday when Sunderland visit north London at 15:00 GMT.
