Following a 3-0 victory at Manchester United last September, Tottenham Hotspur has been issued a £75,000 fine by the Football Association for homophobic chants from their supporters.
The FA’s sanction stems from incidents in the 49th and 79th minutes of the Premier League match at Old Trafford.
The club swiftly denounced the “abhorrent homophobic chanting” post-match, calling it “simply unacceptable” and pledging stringent action.
The FA’s decision cites two violations of FA Rule E21, concerning crowd control and spectator conduct.
This rule specifically addresses the responsibilities of clubs in maintaining appropriate supporter behavior at football matches.
