“Elf” Costume Achieves Impressive £239,000 at Auction

A costume worn by Will Ferrell in the beloved holiday film *Elf* has fetched over £239,000 at auction.

Propstore, a Hertfordshire-based auction house, had estimated the iconic costume from the 2003 Christmas comedy to sell for up to £200,000.

The memorable green and yellow outfit was donned by Ferrell’s character, Buddy the Elf, during a scene where he gleefully presses all the buttons in a New York City elevator.

In the same auction on Friday, a fedora used in *Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom*, filmed at Elstree Studios, achieved a price of £327,600.

According to Propstore, the *Elf* costume originated directly from the collection of the film’s producer, Jon Berg.

A spokesperson for Propstore previously noted: “With only a limited number of costumes believed to have been created for the film, this remarkable history renders it an exceptionally coveted piece of Christmas cinematic history.”

The *Indiana Jones* fedora attracted a total of 21 bids.

The original blaster prop wielded by Boba Fett in *Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back* is anticipated to garner between £350,000 and £700,000 on Saturday.

A diverse array of items from various films and TV series are being auctioned off in London during an event that extends until Sunday.
