Kevin Durant confirmed his move to the Houston Rockets at a New York media event on Sunday.
Two-time NBA champion Kevin Durant is joining the Houston Rockets in a major trade from the Phoenix Suns.
The 36-year-old forward will join the Rockets in July, in a deal involving eight other players.
In return, guard Jalen Green and small forward Dillon Brooks will head to Phoenix, along with the 10th pick in Wednesday’s NBA Draft and five future second-round picks, according to US media reports.
Speaking at a New York media event Sunday, Durant told reporter Kay Adams: “Joining the Houston Rockets, I’m really looking forward to it.
“It’s been a whirlwind of activity these past couple of weeks, but I’m glad it’s concluded.
“They had a strong season last year. I admire their leadership. I believe I can be a valuable addition.”

Durant is a four-time Olympic gold medalist with the United States and the 2014 NBA MVP.
Last season, the Suns finished 11th in the Western Conference, with Durant averaging 26.6 points, six rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game.
The Rockets finished second in the Western Conference but were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.
They are coached by Ime Udoka, who signed a long-term contract last week to remain Houston’s head coach. Durant and Udoka previously collaborated with the Brooklyn Nets and the US Olympic team.
Durant is the seventh highest scorer in NBA history and won two NBA titles with the Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018, earning Finals MVP both times.
