Criminal Case Opened in Moscow Region Against Uzbek National for Murder of Disabled Man (Video)

In the Moscow region of Russia, a migrant from Uzbekistan fatally assaulted a 49-year-old deaf and mute man. The Moscow Region Prosecutor’s Office reported this incident.

The tragic event occurred on July 20th in the city of Shchyolkovo. According to the investigation, the man was passing by garbage containers where two citizens of Uzbekistan were scavenging. The deaf and mute man began to express his displeasure through gestures, which the migrants allegedly interpreted as aggression.

“During the dispute, a 33-year-old man struck the victim several times in the head with his hands, and then kicked him in the chest. As a result of the impact, the victim fell from his own height onto the asphalt and died at the scene,” the regional prosecutor’s office press service stated.

Following the assault, the suspects reportedly attempted to conceal the crime by dragging the body into bushes and fleeing the scene.

According to RBC news outlet, investigators used CCTV footage to identify the suspect and reconstruct the full sequence of events.

Police have apprehended the assailant. He has been charged with intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm resulting in death through negligence. A court has ordered him to be held in custody pending trial.
