Criminal Case Opened Against Two Migration Agency Employees

A criminal case has been initiated against employees of the Migration Agency who were involved in sending citizens to work in South Korea in exchange for monetary rewards. This was reported by the State Security Service (SGB) press service.

It is reported that SGB officers conducted operational measures to combat illegal migration and prevent citizens from falling into difficult situations abroad.

In particular, the chief specialist of the Namangan branch of the Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers, using his official position, gained the trust of a group of citizens through deception and promised to send them to work in South Korea. He was apprehended with material evidence while receiving $41,000 USD.

During the preliminary investigation, it was established that he carried out this illegal activity in conjunction with the chief specialist of the Agency’s central office. The operational measure was continued, and this employee was also caught red-handed receiving $15,000 USD from the aforementioned amount.

Furthermore, it was revealed that in 2024, these Agency employees received over $700,000 USD from more than 80 citizens for sending them to South Korea, but have not fulfilled their promises to date.

In connection with this fact, a criminal case has been initiated against these individuals under Articles 168 and 28,211 of the Criminal Code. Necessary measures are being taken to identify the remaining members of the criminal group and bring them to justice.
