Costume Swap Offers Families Budget-Friendly Halloween Alternative

In an effort to alleviate financial pressures on families, a library in Dudley is hosting a Halloween costume swap.

Brierley Hill Library is offering the free exchange of used children’s Halloween costumes until 31 October.

Library staff have noted the success of a similar initiative held for World Book Day.

“Recognizing the financial strain on parents to continually provide new costumes, we believe this program offers valuable support to our local community,” stated Rocco De Gregorio, manager of Brierley Hill Library.

“Customers can exchange outgrown costumes for different ones, eliminating the need for costly new purchases.”

Councillor Damian Corfield, cabinet member for neighbourhoods, commented: “This is a commendable initiative that provides support to families, while also encouraging sustainability and community engagement.

“I commend our libraries for their ongoing innovation and commitment to offering practical assistance to local residents.

“The Halloween costume swap at Brierley Hill Library exemplifies how simple ideas can have a significant impact.”

The library is open Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 09:00 to 18:00 BST, Wednesdays and Fridays from 09:00 to 17:00 BST, and Saturdays from 09:00 to 16:00 BST.
