Dan Cole reached the World Cup final with England in 2019
Leicester Tigers stalwart Dan Cole is set to depart the club after an 18-year tenure, citing personal reasons.
Cole, 38, had been a Tiger since 2007, transitioning from player to recruitment and retention manager in 2025 after his retirement.
The former prop made over 340 appearances for the club, setting a new record for league appearances for Leicester in the 2023-24 season.
“I am leaving Tigers with a heavy heart,” Cole stated.
“This club means everything to me, and representing the badge has been an honour. Unfortunately, due to a change in personal circumstances, I cannot dedicate the necessary attention to the role moving forward, and therefore I am stepping away.
“I am confident that the club is well-positioned for 2026 and beyond, and I wish Geoff, the players, and everyone at Mattioli Woods Welford Road the best of luck.”
Leicester-born Cole secured four Premiership titles during his time at Welford Road.
He also earned 118 caps for England, contributing to three Six Nations championships.
“Dan’s departure will be felt, but his legacy as a player, employee, and, most importantly, as a person will endure,” said Tigers chief executive Andrea Pinchen.
“He embodies the resilience, passion, and devotion to the badge that define this club.
“He will be deeply missed.”
