Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is now just three games away from securing a second trophy with the club, following their Conference League triumph.
The quarter-final matchups for half of the FIFA Club World Cup have been determined, allowing teams to strategize their path to the final.
Chelsea, one of two English teams participating, is set to face Palmeiras on Saturday, July 5th (02:00 BST).
The Blues advanced to this stage after an extra-time victory over Benfica, in a match delayed by two hours due to inclement weather.
Later that same day, European champions Paris St-Germain will clash with Bayern Munich (17:00 BST) in a highly anticipated showdown between two powerhouses.
Four Round of 16 matches remain to be played, including Manchester City versus Al-Hilal on Tuesday, July 1st (02:00 BST).
The complete Round of 16 schedule is as follows:
June 28: Palmeiras 1-0 Botafogo (AET)
June 28: Benfica 1-4 Chelsea (AET)
June 29: PSG 4-0 Inter Miami
June 29: Flamengo 2-4 Bayern Munich
June 30: Inter Milan v Fluminense (20:00 BST)
July 1: Manchester City v Al-Hilal (02:00 BST)
July 1: Real Madrid v Juventus (20:00 BST)
July 2: Borussia Dortmund v Monterrey (02:00 BST)
Chelsea is already aware that they will face Brazilian side Palmeiras, whose young forward Estevao Willian will join the Blues after the tournament. The match will take place in Philadelphia.
The PSG versus Bayern Munich game is a rematch of the 2020 Champions League final.
Should Manchester City defeat Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal, they will then play either Inter Milan or Brazilian team Fluminense in Orlando.
The full quarter-final draw is as follows:
July 4: Inter Milan/Fluminense v Man City/Al-Hilal (20:00 BST)
July 5: Palmeiras v Chelsea (02:00 BST)
July 5: PSG v Bayern Munich (17:00 BST)
July 5: Real Madrid/Juventus v Borussia Dortmund/Monterrey (21:00 BST)
A semi-final clash between Manchester City and Chelsea is possible if both teams advance.
That match is scheduled for Tuesday, July 8th (20:00 BST).
The other semi-final, to be played 24 hours later, could see PSG or Bayern Munich potentially facing Real Madrid, provided they navigate the next two rounds.
Both semi-final matches and the final will be held at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, which is also slated to host the 2026 World Cup final.
The final will take place on Sunday, July 13th, at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey (20:00 BST).
There will be no third-place play-off game.
