Spoiler warning: This article reveals details from the third episode of The Celebrity Traitors
The latest installment featured eliminations, deception, and an unexpected moment of levity.
The third episode of The Celebrity Traitors has aired, and a notable incident involving veteran British actress Celia Imrie passing gas during a tense juncture has captured viewer attention.
“What just happened?” queried presenter Claudia Winkleman upon the occurrence.
“I just farted Claudia. It’s nerves, but I always own up,” Imrie responded, eliciting laughter from those present.
Winkleman subsequently regained control of the situation, guiding the celebrities toward another demanding challenge.
The incident sparked amusement among online audiences, with one X user declaring it “the TV highlight of the year,” while another quipped that the nation had “peaked.”
“Critically acclaimed thespian Celia Imrie farts like the rest of us folks,” observed showbiz reporter Catrina Rose.
Beyond the comedic moment, the episode also featured strategic gameplay.
By the episode’s conclusion, two of the younger contestants were eliminated from the competition.
First, YouTube personality Niko Omilana was banished following suspicions of being a traitor, fueled by figures such as actor Sir Stephen Fry.
Following his banishment, the 27-year-old stated, “Can’t believe I’m out so quickly but it’s been an honour getting to know every single one of you… I can now reveal that this whole time I’ve been honest and I’m a faithful.”
His departure triggered a wave of disapproval among some viewers.
“They’ve all been cowards there,” one X user posted, adding: “Niko has been voted because he’s an outsider and he’s not in their celebrity world. Nothing to do with the game.”
“Niko being eliminated has sent shockwaves through social media,” noted entertainment journalist Indigo Stafford.
“For many viewers, his elimination came out of nowhere. And now a new theory is spreading online about the real reason Niko was voted out… which is that the other contestants didn’t know him well,” she said.
“Since many of the celebs tend to move in the same circles, some fans are convinced that him being an outsider is what unnerved them.”
Additionally, Olympic diver Tom Daley, 31, fell victim to the traitors’ machinations.
Expressing his disappointment, Daley was met with a quip from traitor Jonathan Ross, who remarked, “gold medals don’t count as shields do they”.
The episode culminated with actress and comedian Tameka Empson being banished at the roundtable amid suspicions of being a traitor.
Notably, the third episode witnessed a shift in demeanor for comedian Alan Carr, who is also a Traitor.
The initially nervous Carr appeared to embrace his role as a Traitor.
In one scene with his fellow Traitors, he volunteered to take charge of selecting their next victim, stating, “I’ve got a taste for it now,” a reference to his previous elimination of singer Paloma Faith.
Later, he seemed dismissive of the other celebrities’ reactions to Tom Daley’s demise.
“People couldn’t believe it, ‘Where’s Tom? Why Tom?’ Well he’s been murdered. Deal with it.”
“Alan has happily become a killing machine,” Rose commented.
The episode concluded on a cliffhanger, leaving viewers to speculate which celebrity—Ruth Codd, Charlotte Church, or David Olusoga—would be the next victim.
However, the episode ended on a lighter note when Carr confessed to Imrie that his vote to banish her was influenced by the aforementioned flatulence.
“Can I be honest with you? It was that fart in the hut,” he said.
