The Hummingbird Cafe, a community hub located in Telford’s Southwater Square at Meeting Point House, is providing complimentary breakfasts to those facing challenges in accessing hot meals this winter.
The initiative, running until the end of March, offers these meals three times per week.
According to the cafe, no applications or justifications are required, and the service is intended to support individuals experiencing financial strain or personal hardship, who may struggle to afford a cooked breakfast.
Breakfast will be served on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 08:30 and 09:30 GMT.
Wayne Jenson, Chief Executive Officer, stated that the breakfast program was made feasible by public support received during the cafe’s free Christmas Dinner event in December.
“We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the Christmas project, whether through financial donations or by volunteering their time,” he said.
“This invaluable support has enabled us to offer a cooked breakfast three times a week.”
“Recognizing the growing need, every donation allows us to reach a greater number of people. Continued public assistance will enable us to expand this offering further, ensuring that no one in need of a hot meal is turned away.”
