Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs, guitarist and co-founder of Oasis, has announced his withdrawal from the band’s highly anticipated reunion tour following a diagnosis of prostate cancer.
Arthurs stated he will be taking a planned hiatus to undergo treatment, necessitating his absence from scheduled performances in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne, and Sydney.
In an Instagram post, Arthurs revealed that the diagnosis occurred earlier this year, but he had been able to participate in “this incredible tour” due to a positive response to initial treatment.
“I’m really sad to be missing these shows, but I’m feeling good and will be back ready to go in time for South America,” the 60-year-old musician shared with fans.
Arthurs previously overcame tonsil cancer in 2022.
Addressing his supporters, Arthurs added: “Have an amazing time if you’re going this month, and I’ll see you back onstage with the band in November. Bonehead X.”
Arthurs, who plays rhythm guitar and keyboards, initially departed the Manchester-based band in 1999 before rejoining for the Gallagher brothers’ recent reunion.
