BBC Salaries 2024-2025: A Comprehensive List of Top Earners

The BBC has released the salaries of its highest-paid personalities as part of its annual report.

Former Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker, who exited in May following an apology for reposting a social media post about Zionism containing an illustration deemed antisemitic, remains the corporation’s top earner, with a salary in the range of £1,350,000 – £1,354,999, consistent with the previous year.

Following him is former Radio 2 breakfast host Zoe Ball, who also departed from her BBC Radio 2 breakfast show in December – three-quarters of the way through the financial year, resulting in a lower salary than last year – having already earned approximately £515,000 – £519,999. She transitioned to hosting a Saturday show on the same station in May.

Match of the Day analyst Alan Shearer secures third place, earning £440,000 – £444,999, while Radio 1 presenter Greg James holds fourth with £425,000 – £429,999. Sharing fifth position are Question Time host Fiona Bruce and Today programme’s Nick Robinson, both receiving £410,000 – £414,999. The remuneration for all four individuals increased year-over-year.

Several prominent BBC figures, including Rylan Clark, Claudia Winkleman, David Mitchell, and Rob Brydon, are absent from the list, as the BBC is not obligated to disclose the salaries of talent compensated through production companies such as BBC Studios, which is classified as a commercial entity.

The following is a list of presenters who earned more than £178,000, according to the BBC’s financial disclosures.

The ▼, ▲ and ➤ symbols indicate whether their salary has decreased, increased, or remained unchanged, respectively. A ★ symbol denotes a presenter making a new appearance or re-entry onto the list.
