Apprentice Contestant Faces Allegations of Racist Social Media Posts

A former contestant on the reality television show “The Apprentice” disseminated a series of antisemitic, racist, and sexist posts on social media, a medical tribunal has been informed.

Dr. Asif Munaf, a Sheffield native, allegedly posted and reposted the “seriously offensive” commentary from his X (formerly Twitter) account between October 2023 and July 2025.

He appeared on the 2024 season of “The Apprentice” but was subsequently removed from “The Apprentice: You’re Fired!” following accusations of antisemitic social media posts.

The 37-year-old, who has not attended the tribunal nor secured legal representation, previously denied the antisemitic nature of the posts.

On Monday, the General Medical Council (GMC) detailed the misconduct allegations against the doctor, who is registered under his full name, Mohammed Asif Munaf.

The GMC alleges that Munaf shared multiple antisemitic statements, encompassing Holocaust denial, conspiracy theories, and rhetoric equating Jewish people with Nazism.

Harriet Tighe, legal counsel for the GMC, stated that one post included an image of a flag displaying the Star of David above a swastika.

Additionally, Munaf reposted a comment containing a derogatory racial slur directed at boxer Floyd Mayweather.

In a separate post, Munaf expressed sexist viewpoints, asserting that certain professions should be gender-restricted and criticizing female empowerment.

During a prior hearing, he stated that the posts were “not befitting of someone as educated as myself and were said in the heat of the emotion.”

The GMC further accuses him of abruptly “disappearing” from a locum cardiology specialist registrar placement at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust in January 2024, leaving without notice or justification.

In a separate allegation, he is accused of providing a sick note to a patient in November 2024 while under suspension from practice.

The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service hearing is ongoing.
